Montana Rail Link says trains will continue traveling along their mainline this evening after 23 cars derailed near Superior Monday night.
MRL spokesperson Lynda Frost said the cars were loaded with coal and part of a 124-car train headed to Washington. There were no injuries or hazardous materials spilled but coal cleanup will continue in the area.
The derailment happened in a very remote location and crews worked around the clock to clean up the spill and get the tracks repaired.
They will continue to run scheduled trains through the rest of the night.

Linda Frost with Montana Rail Link says crews are working to clean up after a train derailed about 10 miles East of Superior.
Frost tells us that 23 cars came off the tracks at 11:55 Monday night, but the reason for the derailment still is not known.
MRL reports that the 124-car train was carrying coal from Rawhide Junction, Wyoming to Centrillion, Washington when the accident occurred.
Frost said there are no injuries to report, and added that no hazardous materials were spilled as a result of the derailment.
MRL's mainline is closed until further notice, but trains are still running on an alternative route that goes along Paradise, Dixon and Ravalli.
The tracks suffered a good amount of damage according to Frost and crews are working around the clock in an effort to get the spill cleaned up and the tracks reopened to traffic.
