Osprey fall again to Owlz

MISSOULA- The Osprey's recent bat woes continued Tuesday night as they fell at home to the Orem Owlz by a final of 11-2.

The Owlz (14-15) used a pair of three-run home runs off of Osprey starter Yoimer Camacho (0-2) to jump out to a 6-0 lead and did not look back. Orem scored their first nine runs of the game via the homer ball, and kept the Missoula bats relatively quiet for much of the game.

Socrates Brito gave the Osprey (14-15) their only two runs of the night, hitting a two-run home run to left-center field in the bottom of the fourth inning. At the time, it cut the Owlz lead to 8-2, but Orem would add single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to close out the scoring.

The Osprey were held to eight hits on the night, including two for third baseman Tyler Bream. Brito also finished with a pair of hits, while Pedro Ruiz, Michael Perez, John Leonard and Breland Almadova added base hits for Missoula.

The Osprey also received a solid pitching effort from relievers Vince Spilker and Michael Rivera, who combined for two shutout innings and four strikeouts.

The Osprey now hit the road for a seven-game road swing through Grand Junction and Orem beginning Thursday.
