ST. IGNATIUS- An Alaska woman is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Lake County.
The Montana Highway Patrol reports that a 51-year-old woman from Anchorage died of the injuries she sustained in the wreck that happened on St. Mary's Lake Road outside of St. Ignatius at 10:40 p.m. Sunday.
The woman apparently drifted over the center line and collided with an oncoming vehicle head-on. The woman's Subaru Forrester flipped during the crash and landed on the driver's side of the car. She was partially ejected and died on scene.
A 37-year-old man and 15-year-old boy from St. Ignatius were in the second vehicle, a Honda Accord, and were injured in the crash.
No one was wearing seat belts and the MHP reports alcohol and speed were factors in the wreck. The accident remains under investigation.
