MISSOULA- Two drivers were taken to the hospital Thursday night after a rear-end crash at the intersection of Highway 10 West and Airway Boulevard, according to Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Rob Strauch.
The two-car collision blocked the highway for more than 20 minutes as responders pieced together what caused the crash just after 9 p.m.
Strauch said a Kalispell man driving a SUV was reportedly seen swerving before he rear-ended a Missoula man's car, stopped at Airway Boulevard. He believes the SUV was traveling between 30-45 miles per hour. The collision pushed both cars into the intersection. Both drivers were hospitalized.
Troopers discovered empty alcohol bottles in the SUV, but they are still investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Highway 10 West and Airway Blvd. reopened just before 10 p.m.
