(CNN) -- The United States Geological Survey recorded a earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 off the coast of Oregon at 9:12 a.m. Wednesday, about 80 miles west-northwest of Barview, Oregon, and 197 miles southwest of Portland, Oregon.

The earthquake was about 6.2 miles deep, making it a relatively shallow earthquake.

Lise Harwin, communications director for the Oregon Trail Chapter of the Red Cross, said the initial impact of the earthquake seemed minor. She said her agency has not been contacted for assistance.

No tsunami warning has been issued.
