MISSOULA - Monday marked the first day of suspended Griz quarterback Jordan Johnson's rape trial.
The jury was seated, attorneys made opening statements, and then the alleged victim took the witness stand late in the afternoon.
She was the first person to testify in the trial of suspended University of Montana quarterback Jordan Johnson, who is accused of rape.
The UM student testified about her family, high school, college and her roommates. Then, prosecutors asked about what her expectations were the night the two watched a movie at her apartment.
"I just wanted to get to know him and hang out with him," she said. "Just get to know him again. See how school's going, how life's going."
When the alleged victim was asked if she planned on having sex that night, or if she had had sex with Johnson previously, she said "no" to both questions.
Prosecutors say the alleged victim was betrayed by Johnson, while defense attorneys say the case isn't about rape, but about the woman regretting her decisions.
The trial will be back in session on Wednesday.
