WORDEN- Fire managers sent aerial resources to a new fire that broke out near Worden on Wednesday.
Paula Short with the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation says the Squaw Creek Fire started along Squaw Creek Road earlier this afternoon and quickly spread in grass, juniper, and sage.
A DNRC helicopter and two Canadian Convair air tankers responded to the blaze, quickly knocking it back and slowing the spread.
Short says the fire is estimated at 40 to 50 acres Wednesday night with no structures were threatened and no evacuations are ordered.
The cause of the Squaw Creek Fire is unknown, however a fire investigator was on the scene.
