MISSOULA - The Ashley Furniture Homestore near the Southgate Mall is closing its door due to declining sales.

District Sales Manager Mark Wells says the Helena store and Great Falls store will also close and nearly 30 people will lose their jobs statewide.

Wells added that says sales started to drop off in 2008 due to the sluggish economy. The Ashley stores in Kalispell and Bozeman have already closed up shop.

He says the company will continue to fill customer orders and will close for good in the next few month.

Most of the inventory will go on sale, starting this New Year's day holiday weekend.
