GREAT FALLS- Cascade County once held the #1 spot for number of meth labs in the state.

Law enforcement has worked hard through the years to clean up our streets, but people are finding new ways to feed their addiction.

At one point, Cascade County had the most meth labs reported to the DEQ in the state.

Great Falls, in the last few years, has seen a decrease in the lab busts, and that's because it's more of a consumer town and less of a production town, according to Chris Hickman of the Central Montana Drug Task Force.

"Generally speaking, for Great Falls, the source state for us would be Washington. Methamphetamine, it's being transported from Mexico up to Washington and then eastward," Hickman noted.

However, what the Drug Task Force has seen more of recently is a different, more contained way to make meth. They call it the "one pot method" and it's made in a two-liter pop bottle.

This method produces the drug on a much smaller scale and creates less of the meth itself.

The DEQ says if you happen to come across a two liter bottle that looks odd, trust your gut and notify the authorities.
