MISSOULA - Two coveted items for many Americans, bacon and beer, were on hand at one event in Missoula Saturday: The Bacon and Brew Fest.
Thousands of people could be found with bacon in one hand, and beer in the other at the Missoula County Fairgrounds.
Attendee's enjoyed a variety of brews and micro brews from summit beverage, baconized food and give aways from Rockin Rudy's while listening to live classic rock bands.
The family friendly event also offered kids a bouncy house, and ice cream. Cherry Creek Radio General Manager Bob Breck says the event originated on Z100's bacon recipe contest.
"Well once we were done with that we thought, you know everybody loves bacon so much, we might want to turn it into an event. Every day is a good day for bacon and you put bacon and brew together and you got it made. It's irresistible."
Breck says the festival is now a spring event and he hopes to continue Bacon and Brew fest annually for a long time.
