MISSOULA- The Missoula Police Department was hopping all around Missoula on the Fourth of July as residents flooded the fireworks hotline to report illegal activity.
Missoula Public Information/Communications Director Ginny Merriam tells Montana's News Station that the fireworks hotline received 140 calls on Wednesday.
Officials tell us that fire crews responded to six calls on Wednesday night.
While fireworks are allowed to be set off in Missoula County, an ordinance prohibits the activity within city limits. Folks who violate the city rule faced a possible fine of up to $500.
Merriam adds that the hotline also received 28 calls on July 3rd.
