Cabela's starts hiring for Missoula store

MISSOULA - The store isn't scheduled to open until this summer, but Cabela's is already starting to hire workers for its new Missoula location.

The Cabela's Outpost store is the centerpiece of the new South Crossing development off Brooks Street, which has been under construction since last summer.

Cabela's announced Tuesday that its starting to take applications for about 90 full-time and part-time employees to staff the new store.

Anyone interested in applying can submit their application online at www.cabelas.jobs. The company says applying doesn't necessarily mean a person will be granted an interview.

Interviews will take place March 13th through the 15th at the Holiday Inn downtown. Cabela's expects most of the workers will come from Missoula and the surrounding communities.

The 42,000 square foot store will be Cabela's third in Montana and the same size as the Cabela's Outpost that opened in Kalispell earlier this winter.

The first store in Billings is nearly twice that size. However, the Missoula store will still feature wildlife displays and an indoor archery range and archery tech room.

"We are looking forward to building a staff that will join the existing Billings and Kalispell locations in providing Cabela's legendary customer service across Big Sky Country," said Jeff Friesen, general manager of the new store. "The ideal candidate is hard-working and passionate about the outdoors."

Cabela's operates 50 stores in the U.S. and Canada and plays to open 23 more over the next couple of years.
