KALISPELL - Authorities may never know the exact cause of a June 7th double fatal crash on Highway 2, but according to witnesses, the car swerved into traffic twice before the deadly collision.
18 year old Mercy Peterson and his 17 year old passenger Kayli Wagoner were both killed when their car crossed the center line and collided head on with a northbound minivan just south of Glacier International Airport.
Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Jerril Ren says the car swerved in front of an oncoming semi tractor trailer just before the accident.
The driver of the truck reported seeing Wagoner's hands on the wheel as if she were trying to correct the vehicle.
The car swerved back into oncoming traffic a second time before colliding with the mini van when it swerved a third time.
Trooper Ren says toxicology results are pending and could take up to three months.
