MISSOULA - The State Medical Examiner's office has released the cause of death of a Hamilton man who was found dead in his home last week.
Robert Thaut, 25, died from blunt force injuries. He was found dead in his home at 408 South 4th Street on Jan. 28.
Hamilton Police Chief Ryan Oster says the two people in the home at the time of Thaut's death, Candace Sullivan, 28, and Richard Sullivan, 25, have not been charged in the case.
The pair remain in the Ravalli County Detention Center on previous charges that are unrelated to this investigation.
Oster says the Hamilton Police Department is continuing to work with the Montana State Crime Lab to evaluate and process evidence gathered in this case.
Oster also told MTN News that due to the fact that this is an ongoing investigation, they cannot release further details regarding possible criminal charges.
