POLSON- Cherry growers work hard throughout the spring to produce a good crop and their efforts are finally paying off with the tasty fruit being the big attraction at the 13th annual Polson Main Street Flathead Cherry Festival.

Thousands of people show up each year to get their share of the Flathead fruit and visitors can buy a variety of cherry products, including food, beverages and desserts. But while the fresh cherries are big sellers at the festival, the growers aren't the only ones who benefit when the crowd rolls into town.

"The hotels, the gas stations, the restaurants. It brings a lot of money into our area. And just by the money that people spend in here you know that they can spend in other stores that are here permanent," festival organizer Tali Barron explained.

The cherry festival will be in August instead of July next year, when more fruit is ready for harvest.
