SILVER CITY- A man near Helena reportedly backed over his young child with a motor home by accident on Sunday afternoon.

The Montana Highway Patrol reports the incident happened at around 2 p.m. at a private residence near Silver City and we're told the father man hit the child with the RV on the passenger side.

The child was airlifted via Mercy Flight at about 3:30 pm to Benefis hospital in Great Falls with authorities saying the child is alive but the extent of the child's injuries is unknown.

MHP also tells us no citations have been issued and it appears it was an accident.
