MISSOULA- People are being invited to float the Clark Fork River for a quick "clean up" event this week. The Clark Fork Coalition is organizing the event, which happens late Wednesday afternoon on the river through downtown Missoula.
The Coalition says floaters are welcome to come along in tubes, rafts and kayaks to help pick up trash and litter that collected during higher water on the river earlier this summer. The Coalition will provide free mesh trash bags for the debris.

People who collect the most trash will have the chance to win a brand new tube from Roemer's Tire Factory. The cleanup float will start at the Sha-Ron Fishing Access in East Missoula at 5 p.m. Volunteers can also meet at the Doubletree Hotel at 4:45 to carpool up to Sha-Ron.
The Coalition is still making plans for a more extensive "Milltown to Downtown" community float next year when the state is expected to finally open public access from the confluence of the Blackfoot and the Clark Fork once remediation work is finished.
