MISSOULA- A trio of recently confirmed flu cases in Montana prompted officials with Missoula's Community Medical Center to start-up its influenza mask policy Monday morning.
The move means that all CMC employees must have had their influenza vaccination two weeks prior to the December 19th start-up date or they will be required to wear a mask until the two week protection is reached.
If an employee has not received an influenza vaccination, they will be required to wear a mask whenever they come within six-feet of a patient. This policy will be in place through the influenza season which typically last until the end of March according to a CMC news release.
Community Medical Center officials are asking that the general public, patient families and construction crews at CMC wear a mask if they have not had an influenza vaccination.
