KALISPELL - Construction is well underway on a new Cabela's sporting goods store in Kalispell, which is scheduled to open this fall.
The Nebraska-based company announced plans last September to build a Cabela's Outpost Store in Kalispell, where about 75 full-time and part-time seasonal employees are expected to be hired.
Kalispell City Planner Tom Jentz says the store is being built in an area which will house several new businesses.
Meanwhile, Cabela's spokesperson Wes Remmer says they're ready to get started.
"We're really excited, the project is going really well and we're poised for a fall opening. We'll have more details as the date gets closer. But everything is looking good. And you know the biggest thing is that we're excited to join the community, and bring the Cabela's retail experience to all of our customers out there."
The work started in back in March on the 42,000-square-foot store, and just this week the company announced plans to build a similar store in Missoula.
Remmer tells us that Cabela's chose Kalispell and the new Missoula locations because they felt that Western Montana embodies the Cabela's lifestyle.
