BOZEMAN - A road crew worker was taken to the hospital after a semi truck backed over him while he was working in a construction zone on Interstate 90 this morning.

Around 8:40 a.m. east of the Bear Canyon exit, at mile marker 316 on Interstate 90, a man on the road crew was standing behind a conveyor belt machine loading paving material. An 18-wheeler backed up and ran over the worker's legs and pelvis, officials said.

The man suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken by Bozeman Deaconess Hospital by ambulance. Officials say he is in stable condition.

The man is an Montana Department of Transportation employee.

Both eastbound lanes of the highway were closed for about 15 minutes. Traffic was backed up all the way to the Bear Canyon exit.
