Corral Fire now at 1,400 acres

Lewis & Clark County Undersheriff Dave Rau says the Corral Fire northwest of Helena in the Scratchgravel Hills is now estimated at more than 1,400 acres.

As of Tuesday morning, Rau says approximately 200 evacuations remain in effect and several roads in the area are still closed.

Rau says if homeowners need to get into their homes for medication or other emergency needs they need to be escorted by law enforcement.

Lewis & Clark County Public Information Officer Brian LaMoure says power is still out west of Green Meadow Drive.

He says residents wanting to donate food or water for emergency crews should drop the donations off at Liberty Baptist Church on Sierra Road.

LaMoure says no families used the Red Cross Shelter at First Assembly of God Church on Dodge Avenue last night.
