DRUMMOND- The Drummond PRCA rodeo celebrated it's 70th anniversary on Sunday with a day of bucking, riding, and roping. Some call it one of the best small town rodeos in the state, and plenty of talent got dirty in the arena over the weekend.
The bareback riding saw reining Montana Circuit champ Chase Erickson of Helena win with a score of 75 on Silver Moon while over in the steer wrestling, it was a great time for Jeremy Marn out of Belt. He wrangled his steer in six seconds flat, the best performance in the main performance, but Ty Erickson scored a five flat time in slack Sunday morning to claim the title.
Saddle bronc saw Shane Moran of Ulm ranked number one in the state heading into the Drummond event and he proved it on Alley Cone, riding to 81 points and the victory. And in tie-down roping, Shawn Dunagan of Whitehall had Sunday afternoon's best time with 11.5 seconds. But Trent Turner beat him in the morning slack, finishing in 9.9.
