MISSOULA - The Missoula Fire Department was busy for the second day is a row battling a blaze in the Garden City.
Firefighters were called to 1407 Stoddard Street at around 2 a.m. on Sunday after a fire broke out in a second floor apartment.
Battalion Chief Dave Wolter says three engine companies, a truck company and the on-duty battalion chief all responded to the call along with the Missoula Police Department and an ambulance.
Wolter says in a news release that firefighters arrived on the scene to find an apartment on the second floor with heavy smoke, and a fire in the living room.
Fire crews knocked down the blaze, which caused an estimated $15,000 in damage, and a fire investigator is working to determine what sparked the fire.
The occupant of the apartment was not home at the time of the fire and all other occupants of the building were evacuated, with Wolter adding that no injuries were reported.
