GREAT FALLS- Emergency crews made quick work of a grass fire on Hill 57 on the northwest side of Great Falls late Wednesday night.
The fire was first reported at about 10:30 pm and spread quickly and while several homes appeared to be briefly threatened, firefighters quickly handled the fire.
Crews from Vaughn, Black Eagle, and Great Falls were able to control the flames fairly quickly as residents lined the street to view the fire.
No one was injured and no structures were damaged in the blaze. Firefighters suspect that fireworks are to blame, but have not yet positively determined the cause.
The Hill 57 fire was just one of about a dozen throughout the Great Falls area on Wednesday.
Fire crews spent much of the day rushing from one grass fire to another; fortunately, all of the fires were handled quickly, and there are no reports of anyone being injured; one outbuilding was damaged in an afternoon fire near 13th Street South and 21st Avenue.
