POLSON - A judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed against the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes over settlement money.
The CSKT got about $150 million in money in the Nez Perce v. Salazar settlement - a lawsuit over the mishandling of tribal assets by the federal government.
Tribal leaders opted to give members about $10,000 each in 2012, and then put the rest to put into an investment account to benefit the tribe later.
But a group called "The People's Voice" sued because they wanted 'ALL' of the money given to tribal members, it claimed the money was their property and tribal leadership was essentially stealing from them by keeping the cash.
Tribal Communications Director Rob McDonald says the judge ruled on Thursday neither argument had merit.
