MISSOULA - If you can spare a few dollars at the grocery store this week, some local veterans could use your help.
Missoula's Americorps Volunteers In Service To America are hosting the first annual Great Roll Out Veterans Drive.
In honor of the 9/11 National Day of Remembrance, they are collecting items from Sept. 1 to 11 to donate to the local home for veterans Valor House.
Non-perishable foods, toiletries and household items like cooking and baking supplies are greatly needed.
A veteran and employee at the Orange Street Food Farm says donating to the cause is a great way to help our local veterans.
"We stand together and hey, we thank the people for their service," said Vietnam veteran Terry Birdeau. "Because without them...this country wouldn't exist."
Donation bins are at the Albertsons on Broadway and Reserve, the Good Food Store, Rosauers, and the Orange Street Food Farm.
