MISSOULA - A person dies by suicide every 16 minutes in the United States, claiming more than 33,000 lives each year. One group is bringing suicide to the forefront by organizing the "out of the darkness" walk at the University of Montana next weekend.

Every year about 200 Montanans take their own lives and the Treasure State has been in the top five worst states for suicide for 30 years. But, the Montana chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide prevention is trying to change that with their Out of the Darkness Community Walk.

For the second year, one is happening in the Garden City on September 18th at the University Oval. We talked with Patrice Mudie, one of the organizers, to find out more about the event. Click the video below to learn more.
