WOODS BAY- Plans are underway to make next years's Dragon Boat races on Flathead Lake even bigger.

Organizers say the 2013 event is scheduled to be a two-day affair, compared to this year's one day event.

After surveying a number of boat teams from all over the United States, the overwhelming consensus was to make the event two days long.

This year's race saw 56 boats, but according to Rob Brisendine of the Kalispell Convention and Visitor Bureau, next year could see anywhere from 80 to 85 teams competing.

The Dragon Boat races have become a major fundraiser for the Save a Sister organization, which raises money to fight against breast cancer.
