BIGFORK- Many boaters were relieved to hear that Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks would not be enforcing a no-wake zone at Echo Lake this summer. The news also comes as a big relief to a local non-profit hosting a summer camp for children and adults with disabilities.

The DREAM Adaptive program offers water skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, and boat rides to people of all ages during an annual summer camp. Volunteers were having trouble finding a lake to hold the camp, because of the possibility of no-wake zones at various lakes around the Flathead.

FWP's announcement allowed volunteers to secure Echo Lake as their camp location, and activities will begin next week. People can still sign up. Visit the DREAM site for more.
