LAUREL - The Dry Creek Fire is 50% contained Wednesday night.
The Department of Natural Resources' Paula Short says about 70 people are still working on the blaze, along with 15 engines, four water tenders, two helicopters, and one dozer. Fire managers had access to the air tanker today but did not need them on the Dry Creek Fire.
The Dry Creek Fire has burned and destroyed five structures. That blaze was ignited by a homeowner using a grinder at about 3:16 p.m. Tuesday.
