EAST MISSOULA- An East Missoula father is facing an assault charge after allegedly throwing a stereo at his son's face.

Missoula County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Jason Johnson says the incident happened on Tuesday in the 300 block of Montana Street in East Missoula.

Authorities say Jeffrey Woods, 38, asked his 14-year-old son to clean his room and he refused. Woods then allegedly came into the boy's room, pulled out all of his son's dresser drawers, dumped the clothes on the floor and told him to clean his room again.

Johnson says when the boy refused again, Woods picked up a stereo and threw it at his face. The boy suffered a cut on his face and a swollen eye after the alleged incident.

Woods is now in jail for the assault and for violating the conditions of his probation.
