KALISPELL - Volunteers head out to the Bob Marshall Wilderness each year to help clean up, and maintain the trails for visitors, but they need local community support to continue their efforts.
The Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation will play host to an annual art exhibit and silent auction on Friday night. The proceeds from the event are the primary funding source for the volunteer program, which restores trails and eliminates noxious weeds.
"It helps us in terms of some of the funding that we use to buy food for projects. It also helps us fund our seasonal crew leaders,Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation Development Director Keegan Zoellner explained.
"We send one of those out with each of the projects and they kind of run each of the trips so it's a huge help for us," Zoellner continued.
Voices of the Wilderness will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Alpine Ballroom in Kalispell.
