ARLEE- Over 500 people gathered in Arlee Saturday to celebrate the seventh annual Ewam Festival of Peace. The founder of the Garden of 1000 Buddhas says the event encompasses what peace is all about.
"His hope in building the garden of 1000 Buddhas is to sort of regenerate or re grow the positive energies and positive fortunes," said Ewam founder, Tulku Sang-ngak Rinpoche.
Rinpoche travels all over the world to different Ewam branches but says Montana has always been special to him.
Food, clothing, and art, all promoting peace were on display and visitors of all ages danced and listened to peace inspired music.
Ewam Media and Communications Coordinator Deborah Hicks says the festival of peace is an important part of the Dalai Lama's message.
"Interfaith dialogue and people coming together from different faiths in the name of peace to help celebrate peace, to talk about what peace looks like in different religions and faiths," said Hicks.
