DAYTON- A Lake County home was leveled in a late Friday night blast with authorities saying that just before midnight on Friday a house at 516 B Street in Dayton exploded.

The Chief Cliff Fire Department, The Polson Fire Department and the Rollins Fire Department all responded to the scene and when crews arrived, they were greeted with a large fire burning on the remains of the home.

Lake County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Karen Sergeant says the blast hit one of four homes that sit fairly close to one another, destroying one home and significantly damaging another home that sits next to it.

Sergeant told us that there was nobody was inside the house during the blast, with an investigation showing that the possible cause of the explosion was a leak in the gas line going into the house.
