HAMILTON - Law enforcement authorities are back on the scene of a fatal crash that happened early Thursday morning near Hamilton High School.
The Montana Department of Transportation advises that a lane of eastbound traffic is closed near the intersection of Fairgrounds Road and the Eastside Highway is closed.
Officials are still looking into what caused the crash, which was reported at around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday.
A Montana Highway Patrol dispatcher has confirmed that emergency crews are on the scene of a fatal accident near Hamilton High School.
The Montana Department of Transportation reports that it is a multi-vehicle accident at the intersection of Fairground Road and the Eastside Highway.
The road is blocked at this time, with MDT saying that a detour has been set up.
Traffic is not being allowed into the area, and is being turned around at the Eastside Highway and sent back toward Corvallis.
No other information about the wreck is available at this time.
The Montana Highway Patrol was called to the scene at around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, and numerous emergency vehicles are on scene.
The Montana Department of Transportation was warning Thursday morning that the Eastside Highway between Florence and Stevensville was icy, with freezing rain falling.
