"While this year has been a great year for moisture, it's always important to be prepared for wildfire season, especially with so many red trees posing an additional risk," said Governor Brian Schweitzer. "We all can pitch in and take personal responsibility with simple steps to create ‘fire-wise' zones around our own homes; the time to act is now."
The Fire Ready Montana initiative emphasizes ‘fire-wise' tips, including; mowing your lawn, keeping gutters free of debris, creating a family contact list and putting together an emergency supply kit that includes water, food and a battery-powered radio.
