POWER- A privately owned machine shop in Power was damaged by heavy smoke and fire on Sunday.

Firefighters responded to 830 27th Lane Northeast at around 9 a.m. on Sunday with officials saying a neighbor called 911 after seeing smoking coming from the shop.

The Black Eagle Volunteer Fire Department, Dutton Volunteer Fire Department and the Power Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire and were able to contain it to the back of the shop, but not before it turned into a small grass fire.

Firefighters put the fire out within 15 minutes of arriving on scene and the rest of the shop has smoke damage. No injuries were reported.
