COLUMBIA FALLS- What do 50's tube TVs, Elvis Presley, a jukebox, and old-fashioned snow shoes have in common? Well not a lot separate, but together they form one of the most unique antique shops you'll ever see. Proud owners Jeff and Lynn Chase are happy to describe their store, Back in Time.
"We have is what we think is one of the more unique, vintage, retro, rooms in the state probably. We actually have 3 rooms, a 50's kitchen, a 70's room, and our 50's, 60's vintage retro stuff."
Jeff says taking a trip through his store, is like a trip back in time, sure they have the classic antiques from the 1800's and early 1900's, but Jeff and his wife Lynn are very proud of their collection.
Jeff says their store celebrated their 5th anniversary Tuesday, in spite of the recession.
"Well the first year was the forest fires of course, all the tourist people left town. After that there was road construction, gasoline, a recession, we survived all of those times, in the hardest of times, but we have a lot of good customers and friends that come to see us that support us and keep us doing good."
So how does an upstart antique's business survive one of the worst economic recessions of our history? Jeff gives the answer.
"A lot of times, it's like how may we help you, but through the last 5 years with our customers, it's like how can they help us. Yeah, we're very fortunate, Columbia Falls is a great place to live."
But Jeff also insists that people stop by to meet their store mascot....Nitro the dog.
If you would like to take a trip to "back in time" antiques, they are located on Nucleus Avenue in Columbia Falls.
