KALISPELL- The Flathead County Attorney's office says it's examining police reports before it decides whether to charge a Kalispell man with the Sept. 22 shooting death of Daniel Fredenberg.
Daniel Fredenberg, 40, was shot several times in the Empire Estates Subdivision by an 24-year-old Kalispell man whom police have not identified. Fredenberg died at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
Flathead County Attorney Ed Corrigan said in this case, "the circumstances don't render a black-and-white decision as to whether this s a homicide that should be charged."
The Flathead County Attorney's office only received the complete investigation from Kalispell Police on Monday, Corrigan said.
"We met with Chief Nasset and the detectives involved yesterday ... and are getting close to reaching a decision," he said.
Before making that decision public, Corrigan says he also needs to speak with the victim's family.
"I don't want them reading about it in the paper," he said.
We made several attempts to contact the family of Daniel Fredenberg for comment, but no one could be reached.
