KALISPELL- It wasn't all not guilty pleas and sentencing in Flathead County District Court on Thursday.
It was district two Judge Katherine Curtis' last criminal day before she vacates her seat after serving 16 years.
She decided to go out with a bang and gave the court room a laugh Thursday morning by reciting a poem.
"So let's get right down to it, we know your client didn't do it. Just tell me you've seen them before, and that they didn't show you the door," she joked.
"And the CA will listen to all manner of reason, a misdemeanor? Oh sure, after all, 'tis the season. It's magical how two counts become one. Such a bargain, how can this not be such fun?"
Curtis was the first woman to serve as a district judge in Flathead County.
She's presided over some very high-profile cases in the Flathead including the Justine Winters case.
