WHITEFISH - High demand on New Years' Eve has a Flathead business trying something new. The taxi service Drive 4 U will be offering a shuttle instead of individual taxis home from the bars.
Owner Jeanne Herron says the shuttle will start at 12:15 a.m. at the Blue Moon, will head to Whitefish, and finally Kalispell. Another shuttle will do the same route at 1:30 a.m.
Herron says it won't be a free service that night, but it is reasonably priced.
"We're just keeping the cost down for this because we'd like to see more people off the road so we're just charging $5 per head," she said.
Herron added it's important to remember that $5, or the price of any taxi service, is much cheaper than the potential costs of a DUI.
