KALISPELL - The Flathead County Commission is continuing to move forward with a plan to build a new Agency on Aging for the Flathead Valley.
A recent report released cites a two acre tract of land north of the Flathead County Fairgrounds as an ideal location for the new facility.
The report is a requirement in order for the city of Kalispell to get a $450,000 grant called the Community Block Development Grant.
"It's very exciting, and we're incredibly appreciative of all the support of the commissioners. I know there are still details to work out, but they've really put a lot of effort into making sure that this project is going to move forward, and the CDBG Grant is a big piece of that," said Lisa Sheppard, director of Agency on Aging.
Flathead County is using the city of Kalispell's slot for the block grant application, which is due on May 17th.
