MISSOULA - Flooding is continuing to hit parts of the Bitterroot Valley on Thursday.
One of the hardest hit areas is Florence, where heavy flooding has been reported in the area of Hidden Valley Road. There are reports of water coming into basements, and sand bags are being used to try and protect homes.
The National Weather Service employees have been surveying the ongoing flooding that's taking place in the Florence area.
The Montana Department of Transportation reports that water is crossing the Eastside Highway between Stevensville and Florence, and drivers should use caution in the area.
Flooding and road closures are also reported west of Corvallis is the Alvista Loop area, south of Mill Creek Canyon as well as in the Eight Mile Area and the Victor area.
The Ravalli County Sheriff Office reports that it's expected that all of Ravalli County will experience poor water drainage conditions.
Ravalli County Sheriff Chris Hoffman in conjunction with Ravalli County Office of Emergency Management Director Ron Nicholas are advising citizens affected by flooding to contact their local fire districts to obtain sand bags and sand.
