FLORENCE - A woman was hurt on Tuesday after being attacked by a captive adult buck deer at her home.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials say in a press release that the woman entered the pen and the white-tailed deer came after her.

The victim was treated at a Missoula hospital, and a veterinarian euthanized the deer. The carcass will be inspected at the state wildlife lab.

The FWP press release notes that it is illegal to keep live game animals as pets.
