KALISPELL- Although no cases of flu or influenza have been seen in Flathead County yet, County Health Department Director Joe Russell said they want you to be proactive before the season starts.
This year's vaccine has three different strains of influenza, including the most recent protection against H1N1 or swine flu.
Russell said it's good to get your vaccine out of the way early for you and your children, and that way you are ready to battle the onset.
He added that when getting your flu shot, the county is a great option, because they have the most updated vaccines.
"It's got three different types of strains, of the influenza virus. Then they say, what is the most prevalent virus, influenza virus that we're seeing right now, and that's how they find out what they're going to put in the flu vaccine every year," he said.
The Flathead City-County Health Department is available for flu shots starting Monday at 9 a.m.
