LINCOLN, NE - Former Missoula Mauler Zack Frye is now a member of the Lincoln Stars.
The United States Hockey League squad drafted Frye with the 20th overall pick in the second round of the league's draft.
He's the first Mauler ever selected by the USHL. After joining Missoula mid-way through the 2009-10 season, he played 30 games for the Maulers.
Frye scored 11 goals, including two game-winners, and also had 11 assists. The 6", 175 pound defenseman was also third on the team with 81 penalty minutes.
"This will be great for recruiting future hockey players to come play in Missoula," said Maulers owner Michael Burks.
