Missoulians at Fort Missoula celebrated Americas 234th birthday with some good old fashion fun.
"The 4th of July, it's so American, it's all about apple pie, America, hamburgers, hotdogs, just families getting together having a good time and celebrating what makes America the great nation it is to live in," said Historical Museum Executive Director Robert Brown.
Missoulians and out of towners flocked to Fort Missoula to get a bit of history with their fourth of July.
"So we're trying to make it a really old fashion, fun, family fourth of July like they used to have back in the good old days, if you will,"said Brown.
Organizers say anywhere from 3,000 to 7,000 people visited Fort Missoula to hear bands play and watch woman clog. They also came out to show their support for what they love the most.
"The people, the sunshine, the environment, and just being here in Missoula is great," said Missoulian, Kathy Whitman.
"Everything that I have on my shirt is representative of relatives in my family that have fought from the Revolutionary War, onward, in fact we have relatives that were on the Mayflower," said Master of Ceremonies, Susan Reneau.
Fort Missoula has held events for the past 34 years, Missoulians get a chance to show their love for their country.
"It's fun, its very family oriented, it's just hokey all American joyful, and it's absolutely lovely," said Reneau.
"It's just fun, simple plain fun," said Brown.
"It's a special family event and we want to wish everyone a happy 4th of July," said Whitman.
All of the money raised during the fourth, goes to the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula, to keep the history alive, year round.
