Four early-morning fires reported in Billings

BILLINGS - Local fire crews were busy early Tuesday morning after several fires were reported in the Magic City.

Just after 4 a.m., a structure fire was reported at 309 South 28th Street. A multiple-unit storage shed was completely engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived.

The blaze was quickly extinguished, but the fire caused moderate to severe damage to the shed and its contents.

No one was injured in the fire. Damages are estimated to be approximately $20,000 and the building is insured. At this time, the cause of the fire is classified as incendiary.

The Billings Fire Department also responded to three other early morning fires.

Shortly before 2 a.m., a rubbish fire was reported at 501 North 23rd Street behind Tire Rama. Two other trash fires were extinguished. The first was reported at approximately 2:51 a.m., located at 213 South 29th Street. The second was called in just after 3 a.m. at 2913 4th Avenue South.

All of the fires that occurred Tuesday morning are being investigated by the Billings Fire Department and Billings Police Department.
