MISSOULA- The Missoula County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the transient man who was found dead Thursday morning near the Mountain Line bus transfer station. The victim is James Ferguson, 59, of Missoula.
POLSON- Lake County Undersheriff Karey Reynolds has stepped down from his post saying in a letter released to Montana's News Station that, "at this time, I am no longer the best man for the job". News came out in December that Reynolds was the subject of a perjury investigation being conducted by the Montana Department of Justice.
MISSOULA- Buoyed by another ridership record, the managers of Mountain Line are projecting continued growth after the snow melts. And General Manager believes there is plenty of room for more passengers, especially during "off peak" travel times. Mountain Line announced this week it had set a single day ridership record on Tuesday, carrying more than 4,600 passengers.
MISSOULA- The memory of the inability to pay a $200 dorm deposit has prompted Watson Children's Shelter Fran Albrecht to start thinking about a way to help former residents who wished to pursue their dream of higher education.
WASHINGTON, DC- Montana Senator Max Baucus called the chief MF Global regulator for the Commodities Futures Trade Commission into his office on Thursday for a face-to-face meeting with Montana farmers. The farmers filed against the former officers of a U.S. commodities broker, accusing them of stealing more than a billion dollars from customers on the same day the firm filed for bankruptcy.
CHENEY, WA- The Grizzly men battled the Eagles Thursday night. They already beat EWU by eight points in December, but they wanted some revenge for their last trip to Cheney, when the Eagles took down the Griz in overtime in the last game the year preventing Wayne Tinkle's club from winning a Big Sky regular season title.
