MISSOULA- The second round of high school football games are set to take place Friday, and Missoula is already sending two cross-town rivals against each other.
Sentinel and Hellgate will clash on the gridiron. Both teams suffered tough losses in week one with the Spartans falling at Bozeman, while the Knights couldn't stick with Helena High.
But they both learned some lessons that they will use this week.
"We weren't really prepared. So, I guess we learned a lot from that game just how intense game situations are compared to practice. So we'll be ready," Hellgate's Jase Buche predicted.
"Us internally, we've got to tackle better. We did not tackle well last week. And so I see a team that's, you know, R.L. has done a great job in the weight room. I see a big, tall, athletic, strong team. So we have got to make sure we are tackling well to be successful," Sentinel coach Dane Oliver told us.
The Knights and Spartans kickoff at 7:30 p.m. in the nightcap of a doubleheader at Missoula County Stadium. Big Sky will battle Flathead at 4:00 in the afternoon.
